My favourite picture of my Mum's parents. Nana looks so pretty and Papa looks like Clark Gable!


This was taken in June last year at my Grandfather's funeral in Sheffield. This is the sane, Guardian-reading side of my family. They don't believe Obama is the Antichrist.

A photo of me, my Dad and Eeyore. I wish I'd known about scanning resolutions when I first got my scanner in 1999. I would be able to get this reprinted now. I don't have it because Mum destroyed every single photo containing my Dad that she could find. I did manage to rescue some.


This one is from a safari park. Possibly Blair Drummond. Same story as above.


My Dad's Dad (Taid) in Germany in 1937. Shame about the Nazi swasticas on the flags in the background. Just like in the Sound of Music.


Taid in India? during WW2. I don't know if this was before or after he started fixing planes at East Fortune airbase. I do know he was injured in India.

This photo was taken at Claire's PJ party. Guys were allowed to attend if they wore nighties. They did.

I LOVE the photos (you know how I am about old family stuff). That first one is spectacular. They were a very handsome couple. You look lovely in the pic and the one of you and your dad is great. The Taid in India one looks more like Cairo, Libya or the desert somewhere. I have photos of my Uncle in Cairo with the indigenous population dressed like the chap on the right.

I'm fairly certain he was stationed in India during part of the war. I think that's what my Aunt put about the photo when she made up boards with lots of photos of him and the family. I'll check with her.

He was stationed in India during WW2, RAF command stuff. (I scanned a couple of letters that he wrote to my Gran when he was over there. They said RAF India Command.)

I don't know about that photo though. My aunt is on holiday so it'll have to wait until she gets back. I'm really curious about this now :)

Funny thing. My mom's family comes from the same place as Clark Gable, Cadiz, Ohio. Unfortunately he isnt related.

You can really see the resemblence between you, your father and your Grandfather!!! You really do have the same eyes as Taid as well the same facial structure...
